League Play Rules & Schedule
South End Pickleball League uses structured doubles match play, division-based scheduling, online results, standings, and playoff seeding.

League fees
- The fee is due in full at registration or by the established deadline.
- $250 for teams with any non-member.
- $200 for teams with all members.
- $75 for solo non-member registration.
- $50 for solo member registration.
League play structure
- 6-week regular season followed by playoffs.
- Each team plays two opponents per week: six games total per league day, one league day per week per division.
- Teams may stay together or swap players after each game within a match.
- Results are available online.
- Games use a 2-hour court block per session.
- All games count toward standings and playoff seeding.
Roster requirements
- Players must be 18+, or have parent/guardian consent and signed liability on file.
- A player may roster on only one team.
- Player skill level must fall within the division range.
- Roster size: minimum 4, maximum 6.
- Open Division is co-ed.
- All mixed division teams require a man and a woman on the team.
- Co-ed teams do not require two men or two women for any game. Co-ed simply allows teams to have both men and women; whether a game is played man/man, man/woman, or woman/woman is up to the team.
Team paperwork & lineups
- Roster changes are allowed through the end of week 4.
- Players must be on the team roster to play. Non-rostered players' games are forfeits.
- Captains enter lineups online 30 minutes before play.
- Scorecards are printed after lineups are entered.
Match rules
- Games to 11, win by 1.
- Game 1: home serves; away selects side.
- Game 2: away serves; home selects side.
- Game 3: home serves; away selects side; switch at 6.
- One optional 1-minute time-out per set.
- No stalling for long strategy huddles. Keep play moving.
- The league is non-sanctioned and self-officiated.
- For unclear situations, play follows the USA Pickleball Official Rulebook.
Playoffs
- Players must have played at least two regular-season weeks to be eligible.
- Seeding uses wins during the season.
- Tiebreakers: head-to-head, then point differential.
Equipment & etiquette
- Players supply their own paddles.
- Paddles must be USAP approved and on the current official list.
- The league provides Franklin X-40 optic game balls; return after play.
- Good sportsmanship and ethical line calling are required.

- Open Division: $600 Payout
- 4.5 Mixed: $300 Payout
